Since 2017, the Australian Fashion Council (AFC) have supported Australia's future industry leaders through 'AFC Curated' program, delivering retail pop-ups, business development workshops and industry mentoring for emerging designers This year the AFC have partnered with LCI Melbourne during VAMFF to host a satellite pop-up space and workshop day at LCI's celebrated Collingwood campus.
This day of workshops will provide a valuable opportunity to learn from designers who have been part of AFC Curated, sharing their insights and hands-on-skills developed while launching their own labels and navigating today's fashion industry.

Join Melbourne’s own Queen of Sparkle, Courtenay Tyrrell from MAUDE Studio, for an innovative workshop experience. Courtenay will lead an introductory discussion, sharing the story behind her amazing brand of hand embellished accessories, inspired by iridescence and the underwater world.
Be prepared to create your own magic in this guided workshop, bedazzle a creative object and bring your sparkly designs to life.

An Introduction to the Circular Economy for Emerging Fashion Labels, aims to introduce fashion designers to concepts of designing for circularity, thinking beyond traditional design approaches and working collectively to transform the industry.
The workshop will be run by Courtney Holm and Teslin Doud, founders of ‘The Rest’, a sustainability start-up that exists to make small businesses ethical and sustainable. Courtney and Teslin develop solutions to support fashion designers and brands, in leveraging their collective power to assist and benefit a sustainable industry.

The designers behind bespoke Melbourne based shoe label, G Terlato, are presenting a collaborative workshop for the future leaders of the Australian fashion industry.
Gesualdo and Marie Terlato have ambitiously adapted and managed over 30 years in a global and ever-changing industry.
The duo will draw on years of experience to share their knowledge and provide advice on what it takes to start a label in today’s fashion industry. Influenced by traditional and contemporary design techniques, Gesualdo and Marie will help you design your own statement shoe to compliment any couture collection.
