It’s time to connect, collaborate and create!

Join acclaimed artist, Michael Peck and esteemed designer, Max Amner on September 20, 2-4pm; for a workshop not to miss! Learn how to transform your hand drawn sketches into digital masterpieces, from two of LCI Melbourne’s outrageously creative academics.

Be inspired to play, experiment and express your ideas in pen and pencil, before applying contemporary Adobe Photoshop techniques to create dynamic designs.

During this 2-hour workshop, you will develop the practical skills to:

  • Create expressive hand drawn sketches as initial concepts;
  • Upload sketches into Adobe Photoshop and convert them into workable files;
  • Understand file types, sizes and image resolution requirements for different outputs;
  • Use Adobe Photoshop selection tools and layers to combine images;
  • Use Digital brushes and other digital tools to transform your sketches into resolved artworks!

Connect with our creative community, cultivate your digital skills and gain art and design insight from two of the industry’s best! The live event will also give you the opportunity, to experience LCI Melbourne’s collaborative online learning environment first-hand!

About Michael Peck



Michael Peck is not only LCI Melbourne’s Creative Director, he is also a passionate artist, educator and advocate of visual art and design. Michael’s work has been widely exhibited within public, private and commercial galleries, throughout Australia and internationally.

Michael has worked on a diverse range of creative projects including, mural commissions throughout Australia, Canada and Germany; as well as creative collaborations with the Melbourne Fashion Festival, Nike, Converse and L’Oréal. He has also been an Archibald Prize finalist and his work has been extensively published across national and international media. 

Michael believes that art and design enriches our everyday environment by providing a visual, intellectual and emotional experience. Importantly, it allows us to gain insight into the perspectives and lives of others within our global community and the opportunity for personal reflection.

About Max Amner



Max Amner is multifaceted LCI Melbourne academic and digital artist, with over 20 years’ experience in advertising and digital media industries. As a designer, Max has been involved in the creation of a wide range of media productions. His adverts have been broadcast globally for companies such as Peugeot, Citroen, Jacobs, Hewlett Packard and many other household names!

Max is a keen polymath, that likes to combine technological innovation and communication mediums, to enhance the human experience. The principle of Max’s teaching focus is to prepare the next generation of designers for a fast-paced industry that is constantly innovating. There has never been a time more suitable for the creative individual, as the world becomes ever more focused on the design of communication.

Alongside his work on evolutionary consumer engagement modelling, Max continues his web development and design work. Max’s focus is to utilise all forms of design techniques and technologies to create solutions that suite the modern design industry.

Event Requirements

To ensure you get the most out of the workshop please make sure you have:

  • A computer, tablet or device of your choice
  • Access to internet
  • An owned or trial version of Adobe Photoshop
Please note, the workshop will be run entirely in Adobe Photoshop. If you feel more comfortable using another program like Adobe Illustrator or Procreate, these skills are transferable; but tools and commands will differ between programs.

If you do not already own Adobe Photoshop, simply sign up for a free one-month trial of the Adobe Suite; to use on the day of the workshop.
