On Sunday 12th of May, Mother's Day, LCI Melbourne opened its doors to Eat Up Australia and its Volunteers to help make sandwiches for school kids who would otherwise miss out on lunch. It was a record-breaking session for Eat Up Australia, with 120 volunteers making 6200 sandwhiches in under 60 minutes.
Eat Up Australia is a not-for-profit organisation that is built entirely on the support of volunteers, community collaboration and the common
belief that no child should have to go hungry. There are so many children that still go to school without lunch, and hungry children can’t learn.
A message from Eat Up Australia CEO Lyndon Galea:
" We are so grateful to the amazing Lee and LCI Melbourne team for donating their space and so much of their time to make this event possible."
LCI Melbourne are so proud to have been able to support Eat Up Australia by donating our amazing building and our time to help such a wonderful organisation.
If you head over to the LCI Melbourne's Facebook or Instagram page, you can see a time lapse of the event.
