The PayPal Melbourne Fashion Festival returns to Australia's cultural capital with a nine-day program that will bring the best of fashion and entertainment to the city again this March.

LCI Melbourne is proud to be involved in this year’s program with multiple events hosted at our campus, run by our community and featuring our students and alumni.

RE:STYLED

Emporium Melbourne and LCI Melbourne present RE:STYLED – a live, sustainable design challenge exploring the theme of circular fashion.

A team of our Fashion & Costume Design students will create unique garments from fabrics and past season pieces, donated by some of Australia’s favourite designer brands such as Aje, Bassike, Bec + Bridge, búl, Jack + Jac, Morrison, Ted Baker and Tommy Hilfiger.

The unique challenge will run from March 3-5. Hosted inside Emporium, students become designers in residence, crafting and constructing while on show to the public.

The final works will culminate in a micro ‘runway’ presentation, hosted by Melbourne stylist, Karinda Mutabazi (Side Eye Creatives) and will give students a platform to display and speak about their creations.

The Daily Boon Exhibition

The Daily Boon Exhibition presented by Creative Director, Philip Boon, launches at our Collingwood campus for PayPal Melbourne Fashion Festival. Philip Boon created The Daily Boon on the first day of lockdown in Melbourne, from a very small one bedroom apartment close to the CBD.

What started out as a daily fashion diary documenting pyjama and lounging clothing, became a story of connection, shared experiences over social media, community and mental health counselling.

The exhibition is open to the public from March 1-5 but our students will have an exclusive opportunity to tour the exhibition and join a floor talk with Philip to discuss his inspiration and work.

For PayPal Melbourne Fashion Festival, our students will be assisting with Viceta Wang’s ‘Couture High Tea’ to launch the Autumn/Winter 2023 Collection. The curated collection celebrates the art of fashion with an immersive experience at The Langham Hotel in the heart of Melbourne.

Viceta Wang is known for taking the audience through a journey of exploration using subtle visual storytelling and a lineup of evolving designs. Each piece is meticulously made by hand using the finest quality materials.
