Superbloom is a tactile, interactive exhibition inspired by the mass blooming of wildflowers in the Californian desert in spring. The work explores the juxtaposition of recreating real-life subject matter using unconventional materials, in this instance – felt. Viewers are invited to create their own rendition of a wildflower using the artist’s signature crafting techniques, and add it to the bloom, resulting in a living and ever-growing installation.
Kitiya is an Australian craft-based designer who specialises in prop design, content creation, creative workshops and DIY projects. She has worked with Frankie Magazine, participated in international conferences such as Adobe Make It and Altitude Summit and featured on the Design Files.
