The Australian Government FEE-HELP loan scheme is available for LCI Melbourne’s eligible degree and diploma students to assist with tuition fees. Visit the Australian Government's Study Assist website for more information on applying for FEE-HELP and to check your eligibility. New Zealand applicants should refer to New Zealand - Study Assist.
If you wish to apply for FEE-HELP you will need a copy of the current FEE-HELP booklet and application form, available from LCI Melbourne Reception or on the Study Assist website. Read these documents carefully and be clear about your obligations regarding the loan and its repayment.
Check the census dates for the units in which you have enrolled. Census date is typically two weeks after the start of Trimester, but exact dates are listed on the Teaching Calendar. The census date is the closing date for new FEE-HELP applications.
Return your completed application form to the Student Services Office. You must include your tax file number (TFN) or a certificate of application for a TFN in your application and provide evidence of your FEE-HELP eligibility (e.g. your passport, birth certificate or visa). Your evidence will be photocopied and certified and the original document returned to you.
If you withdraw from your studies after the census date you can apply to have your FEE-HELP balance re-credited. For an application to be successful, LCI Melbourne must be satisfied that special circumstances apply to you, the student, that (a) were beyond your control (b) did not make their full impact on you until on or after the census date for the unit of study in question and (c) were such that they made it impracticable for you to complete the unit/s of study requirements.
You must make your application to LCI Melbourne within 12 months of your withdrawal date unless LCI Melbourne is satisfied that it was not possible for you to apply within the time limit and grants you an extension. For further information about applying, contact Student Services.
LCI Melbourne will make a decision on your application within 15 working days. If you are dissatisfied with that decision you may apply for a review.
If you have not paid tuition fees upfront and have requested FEE-HELP assistance and you withdraw from units after the applicable census date, you will incur a debt to the Australian Government.

The studios at LCI Melbourne provide materials for students to study using a range of fashion & costume design, filmmaking & photography, graphic & digital design, and visual arts media. The computer labs are equipped with industry-standard computing equipment and software.
Some materials may be provided over some projects. Students provide their own personal material requirements such as colour markers, folios and USB flash sticks. Students must also pay for printing and photocopying of their own work. Students should budget on paying $200 to $400 per year for studio materials and production costs. Costs can vary depending on student preferences and LCI will endeavour to support students in sourcing materials through industry contacts where possible.
Lockers are available for hire to store personal materials.
