Masterclass Life Drawing

Drawing has always acted as the fundamental starting point for artists and designers to articulate their ideas and the human figure has always been the most captivating subject matter. Join this short course to develop your own visual language of mark making and develop a personal approach to life drawing. Learn to confidently utilise a range of methods and selected materials to observe and confidently draw the human figure.

Course Objectives

  • Develop technical skills and trial different approaches for mark making.
  • Experiment with a range of traditional and non-traditional drawing media.
  • Develop a personal drawing style.
  • Develop and apply observation skills for accurately drawing the figure.
  • Depict the figure in dynamic and static poses.

Meet your teacher | Godwyn Bradbeer

Godwin Bradbeer is an iconic artist who has been exhibiting in Australia since the early 1970’s, and whilst he has substantial experience as a photographer and a painter, his most definitive practice is in various modes of drawing. As such this Melbourne based artist is an acclaimed virtuoso draftsman, and the recipient of many major drawing awards in Australia.

As an educator, Godwyn has held a wide range of prestigious positions in lecturing at Monash University, VCA and as Head of Drawing at RMIT. He is well respected for his ability to teach students of all levels and to build confidence, understanding and skill for drawing the human figure.
