Scholarship Overview

LCI Melbourne is offering six partial scholarships worth 15% of the annual, full-time fee* for studies commencing in Trimester 1 2018 (*based on studying a three year degree; pro-rated for fast-tracked degrees of two years).

One scholarship will be offered in each of the following Majors for the Bachelor of Design Arts:

  • Communication Design
  • Fashion & Costume Design
  • Filmmaking & Photography
  • Graphic & Digital Design
  • Interior Design
  • Visual Arts

LCI Melbourne is looking for individuals who want to make an impact in the design arts arena, and show potential to thrive in their studies and future career.  

Scholarship Eligibility

  • Open to Domestic Students only (Australian citizen/resident)
  • Open to new students only (continuing students are not eligible)
  • Only Trimester 1 2018 enrolled students are eligible to apply

Assessment Criteria

Applicants will be assessed on the basis of the following criteria:


Demonstrate creative aptitude for design, a passion for the design industry, and self-motivation to make a contribution to the design arena.

Academic Achievement

Applicants must show dedication and commitment to achieving success in their past and future academic studies.

Community Spirit 

Demonstrated willingness to be proactively involved with local, national or international community activities and causes, as well as  the LCI Melbourne community.

Social Responsibility

Show an understanding of social causes and responsibility and be actively engaged in activities that reflect this action.

Short Listed Applicants

2018 scholarships will be awarded to the six applicants who best demonstrate the qualities, experience, skills and mindset represented in the Assessment Criteria (above).  

LCI Melbourne will acknowledge receipt of all Scholarship applications via email.

Applications will be assessed against the Assessment Criteria, and a shortlist created. Shortlisted applicants will be notified by phone.

Shortlisted applicants will be interviewed in person in Melbourne (or via skype for interstate applicants) by the judging panel, in the week commencing Monday 12 February 2018.

Responsibilities as a Sponsorship Student

As a successful sponsorship recipient you will be expected to  contribute to the LCI Melbourne community, assist prospective students, and get involved with events.   You will be required to:

  • Participate as a member of the Student Representative Council (SRC)
  • Share your learning experiences with the marketing team so they can share this on our social media platforms (where relevant), at least once per month.
  • Act as a student ambassador at events such as Open Days, Information Evenings.
  • Be willing to be publicly recognised in the LCI Melbourne community as a scholarship recipient, with the potential to be profiled on our website and social media platforms.

Upon graduation, sponsorship students will receive a letter from LCI Melbourne outlining their role, responsibilities and achievements in contributing to the LCI Melbourne community.

Terms and Conditions

  • The scholarship recipient must meet all entry requirements of the course and have a confirmation of enrolment from LCI Melbourne prior to consideration.
  • By accepting the scholarship the recipient must agree to take part in marketing activities and school events (such as Open Days, Information Evenings, Workshops, etc.) on a regular basis.
  • Scholarships are for new, full-time, and already enrolled domestic students only. The recipient will be required to commence studies in Trimester 1 2018.
  • Deferral or withdrawal of studies will result in forfeit of the remainder of the scholarship award (or the entire award if the studies have not yet commenced).
  • The scholarship recipient is expected to excel academically, and their performance will be monitored each study period. A failure to meet academic obligations may result in forfeit of the scholarship award. Subsequent fees for repeating a failed subject will be the responsibility of the student.
  • The assessment panel’s decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into. Successful sponsorship recipients will be named on the LCI Melbourne website.
